Yahalom Foundation (RA 580602712), the veteran association of the Yahalom Unit – a special missions engineering unit of the IDF Engineering Corps (“we,” “the Foundation”) is a non-profit organization, whose income and activities are invested in social initiatives for the benefit of IDF soldiers, both active and reserve, and for the benefit of the community in the State of Israel.
This Privacy Policy (“the Policy”) explains how we process personal information about you, when you (“the User”) visit, donate, purchase, or otherwise make use of the Foundation’s website (https://www.yahalomfoundation.com) (“the Website). It also applies to all other communication channels managed by the Foundation, including email, text messages, and the Foundation’s social media platforms such as its Facebook page and group, Instagram page, LinkedIn page, and YouTube channel (“the Services”).
This Policy constitutes a notice containing the details required by law that we are obliged to provide you when contacting you to obtain personal information that will be managed in our databases. You are not legally required to provide us with personal information, and the processing of such information by us is subject to your consent.
The privacy of our users is important to us, and therefore, we recommend that you read this Policy carefully. If, after reading the Policy, you find that it does not match your views or preferences, you must refrain from using the Services and from providing the Foundation with your personal information. We will regret this, but it is your right, and we will respect any decision you make. Please note: If you do not consent to the processing practices described in this Policy, we will not be able to provide you with the Services.
Please also note: This Policy applies only to the Foundation’s Services. The Services may use and include links to applications, websites, or businesses operated by third parties. This Privacy Policy does not apply to their activities.
For the purpose of this Policy:
“Personal Information” means any data about an individual (as opposed to a company or other entity) who is identified or identifiable.
“Processing” means any operation performed on personal information, for example, collection, storage, review, transfer, or any type of use.
1. What personal information do we process?
We process the following types of personal information as part of the Services and activities related to them:
1. Personal details you provide to us. For example, when you register with the Foundation as a unit alum or as a member of the Friends Association, make a purchase in the website store, make a donation, or leave a message on the Website. Also, when you contact us via email, WhatsApp, or the Foundation’s social media pages, or when you register for an event organized by the Foundation. In such cases, you may provide us with details such as: name, ID number, gender, date of birth, email address, mobile phone number, home address, occupation, employer name, LinkedIn profile link, education details, year of joining the unit, company (platoon), and preferred areas of volunteering.
Sometimes, you may provide us with personal information about others. For example, personal information regarding your relatives or people using the Services through you. You undertake to provide us with such personal information only if you are legally permitted to do so.
Please note that it is recommended not to include sensitive information in the messages you send us.
2. Payment information you provide to us. When you make a purchase or donation through the Website, we require your credit card number. Your payment details are transferred directly to the payment processing company. We do not receive your payment details, nor do we store them. In addition, when making a purchase or donation, we may process identification and contact details that you provide, as well as donation or transaction details (amount/currency/date), transaction identifiers, and accounting documents as required by law.
3. Personal information about your use of the Services. For example, details of your history of inquiries, purchases, donations, etc., such as the date and amount of a transaction.
4. Data about your use of the Website and Services is collected automatically. This data may include information about how you use the Services as well as data from your device, some of which may include personal information. Among other things, we use:
- Monitoring tools, such as cookies. The Foundation’s Website is hosted on the servers of WIX, and like many other websites on the Internet, we also use monitoring tools that record your online activities and include cookies, trackers, web beacons, pixel tags, tags, and other monitoring technologies. Some of the files and personal information processed by these monitoring tools are deleted when you close the browser you are using. Others remain stored on your device even after you finish using them. Additional information about your options to manage, block, and delete cookies and other monitoring tools is available in the settings area of the browser you are using.
Please note that blocking or removing monitoring tools may affect your service experience, since some aspects of the Services may not function at all, or may function only partially, without these tools.
- Data collected from all devices. Data collected from all of your devices, including mobile devices, which may contain personal information such as the type of operating system on your device, the type of browser you use, and the Internet Protocol (IP) address your device uses to access the Internet.
At any time, you can control the permissions you grant us through the settings area of your device’s operating system.
- Aggregate and analytical information. We use third-party services to manage and analyze personal information generated from the use of the Website and the Foundation’s Services. These services monitor activity on the Website and use of the Foundation’s Services, and provide us with details about user behavior, such as the number of users who visited the Website in a given month, the most viewed pages, actions performed by users on the Website, etc.
The Foundation uses Wix Analytics tools, which use the data in accordance with their own privacy policy and under their responsibility. The policy documents of Wix Analytics are available at: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.
You can prevent the collection of personal information about you by installing a browser add-on, such as the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
In addition, you can prevent or restrict the collection of information about you by these tools through the settings of your browser and your device’s operating system.
5. Personal information collected in connection with your participation in leisure activities organized by the Foundation. During leisure events initiated by the Foundation, we may photograph and document the events (“Photographs”). These Photographs may include images and videos in which you and your family members appear. Your participation in events constitutes consent to being photographed and to the use of such images as part of the Services, including their publication on the Website and on the Foundation’s communication channels, including its social media pages (“Albums”).
The Foundation will make every effort to ensure that photographs are taken only in public areas or areas open to a wide audience, and that no close-up photographs will be published without taking privacy-enhancing measures such as blurring and pixelating faces.
2. Children’s personal information
As a rule, the Services are not intended for children, and we take care to collect personal information about children only as permitted by law. We may collect personal information about children who are your relatives only in accordance with this Policy.
3. For what purposes do we process personal information?
We process personal information about you for the following purposes:
Members of the Foundation and its Friends Association
- To review membership applications, including verifying your identity and confirming that you are a Yahalom Unit veteran.
- To identify you during repeated logins to areas that require registration.
- To send you and make available ongoing information and updates relevant to the Services and your membership.
- To provide you with services through external providers.
- To provide service to an authorized representative on your behalf, in accordance with their permissions and your preferences. We may communicate with such an authorized representative and allow the transfer of personal information and execution of actions in accordance with this Policy
Purchasers in the Website store
- To operate the Services and payment, handle and respond to your inquiries or those of businesses and service providers, review charges or credits, and similar matters.
Donors
- To operate the donation process, handle and respond to your inquiries, review charges or credits, and similar matters.
All users
- To manage the Foundation’s membership system, Friends Association, online store, and donations system.
- To provide and improve the Foundation’s Website and its content, and to create new content tailored to the needs of Website users and Foundation members.
- To contact you and respond to your inquiries.
- To send you reports and ongoing updates concerning the Foundation and the Services, including offers to participate in activities, promotions, and discounts intended for Foundation members. We may contact you through various means, including the Foundation’s social media pages, mail, email, call centers, and text messages. The messages you receive may be general or personally tailored to you. Some may be considered direct marketing under the Privacy Protection Law, 1981, or advertising under the Telecommunications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 1982.
- To protect your rights and those of other users, the interests of the Foundation, its providers, and other related entities, the rights of its office holders, and of other individuals connected to the Foundation, and to prevent or reduce damage and expenses of any kind. For example, detecting attempts at unauthorized use, abuse, fraud, and embezzlement related to the Services.
- To manage risks and legal and administrative proceedings, as well as any other proceedings before a competent authority.
- To comply with legal obligations, as well as orders, requirements, and requests from supervisory and enforcement authorities, investigative authorities, and others, in Israel and abroad.
4. What are your options?
You have a variety of options to set your preferences regarding the use of your personal information:
1. At any time, you may contact us with a request to:
- Remove from Albums photographs in which you or your family members appear.
- Stop sending you advertising messages and mailing list content (newsletters). We will stop sending such messages in accordance with the law, within a reasonable period of time.
- Review personal information about you that is stored in the Foundation’s databases, and request the correction or deletion of details that are incorrect, incomplete, unclear, or outdated, subject to and in accordance with the law.
- If you joined the Foundation or the Friends Association, you may cancel your membership and request the deletion of your user account.
2. If personal information about you was transferred to us from the European Economic Area (EEA) by someone other than you, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal information held by us. This right is subject to the restrictions provided by law.

3. In addition, many choices are defined within the Services themselves, and alongside them, you can use your browser settings and your mobile device operating system settings to adjust the processing of personal information to your preferences. For example, you can:
- Manage your personal information in the digital channels. For instance, you can edit and correct some of your personal details in your user account.
- Prevent the Foundation and its providers from placing cookies and using additional monitoring tools on your device by adjusting the settings of your browser and your mobile device. Please note that such action may disrupt your ability to use the Website.
- Prohibit or restrict the use of the advertising identifier on your mobile phone, in accordance with the options and settings of your device’s operating system.
5. With whom do we share personal information?
We share personal information with other entities only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes for which the personal information was collected in accordance with this Policy. Accordingly, we share personal information with the following entities.
For example:
- If you choose to join as a member of the Foundation, we will share personal information about you with state bodies (for example, the Associations Unit and the Public Benefit Companies Registrar in the Corporations Authority) and with other Foundation members in order to enable your membership in the Foundation.
- With organizations that help us fulfill our obligations to you and to your personal information, such as information security and fraud prevention companies, and the Foundation’s legal advisors.
- With service providers that help us provide you with the Services, including purchasing products in the Website store, such as payment processors.
- With analytics companies that provide us with details about the use of the Website and the Services.
- With additional providers and entities with whom the Foundation cooperates for the purpose of managing, supplying, and monitoring the Services.
- With competent authorities and supervisory, enforcement, investigative, and other agencies, in Israel and abroad, as required by law. For example, if we receive a court order requiring us to disclose personal information.
- In addition, we may share personal information about you, at our discretion, if we believe such sharing is necessary to protect the safety of a person, the public at large, or to prevent harm to the rights or interests of third parties..
6. Where is personal data stored?
The personal data we collect is stored in our databases. We store and process personal data at various sites in Israel and in other countries, including the United States and sites based on cloud technology.
The data we collect is stored and processed in our databases, hosted on the Foundation’s computer systems, as well as with server hosting and data backup providers, who may also be located outside Israel.
Personal data is stored according to accepted standards in order to protect the data and in accordance with the regulations applicable in this matter.
Additional personal data, as detailed in this policy in the section “With whom do we share personal data,” is stored by entities with whom we share information. They may also store the data outside Israel.
Privacy protection and the powers of authorized authorities regarding access to your personal data may differ abroad from those in Israel.
Your consent to the data processing practices in accordance with this policy also constitutes consent to the storage of your personal data abroad.
7. How long do we keep your personal data?
We retain your personal data as long as necessary for the purposes of processing your personal data as described in this policy.
For example, we will keep personal data in order to provide the services and as required by law. According to the law, once a year we hold a review in which we examine personal data we no longer need. Accordingly, we decide whether to keep or delete personal data.
Statistical and non-identifiable data is not subject to privacy laws. We will retain statistical and non-identifiable data indefinitely. However, when using such data, we will not knowingly take any action that may reveal your identifiable details.
8. How do we make changes to the privacy policy?
From time to time, we may make changes to this policy, arising from changes in laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines, or from changes in the nature and quality of the services provided by the Foundation, from technological changes and more.
We will publish an advance notice of the expected changes to the policy and the date they take effect. We will update you about these changes through digital channels. There you will be able to update your consents if necessary.
Your continued use of the services after we have published the update to the privacy policy indicates your consent also to updates in the way we process your personal data in accordance with the updated policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you may discontinue your use of the services.

9. How will a change in the organizational or corporate structure of the Foundation affect data processing?
If the Foundation changes its corporate structure, the Foundation will continue to collect and use personal data only in accordance with what is written in the policy.
10. How do we protect your personal data?
We secure and protect your personal data in accordance with strict standards that comply with the law.
We implement numerous systems, applications and procedures to secure personal data related to you, in order to minimize risks of theft, damage, data loss, or unauthorized access or use.
These systems reduce security risks. However, it is important to understand that although we invest significant resources in cyber and data security, no security system is impenetrable. Although we make efforts to protect your privacy, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the services will be immune to wrongdoings, malfunctions, unlawful access, or other types of misuse or unauthorized use.
11. What about the privacy practices of third parties?
This policy applies only to the Foundation’s services.
Please note: the services may use and include links to applications, websites, or other businesses. These websites are operated by third parties, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to their activities.
In addition, the privacy policies of media companies apply to the Foundation’s media pages. Among others:
- Our activity on the Facebook and Instagram pages and groups is subject to the privacy policy of Meta.
- Our activity on the LinkedIn page is subject to the privacy policy of LinkedIn.
- Our activity on the YouTube page is subject to the privacy policy of Google.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of each of these sites before using them. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of these sites. Use of their services is subject to their privacy policies, instead of or in addition to this policy.
