Corporal Guy Geler was born and raised in Ramat Gan, the son of Mira and Uri and the only brother of Dana. He was a smiling child with a radiant face. His birth brought great joy to his family.

Guy first studied at Tel Hai Elementary School in Ramat Gan. He then attended Ben Gurion School in the city, and in high school, he studied at the “Modi’im” School in the humanities track, partly thanks to his love of books.

At school, Guy was a serious and well-liked student. He stood out for his modesty and for his respectful attitude toward everyone around him.

Guy was a man of giving. Alongside his school studies, he volunteered in the Civil Guard, demonstrating persistence, responsibility, involvement, and a strong desire to act for the benefit of others, without condition or reward.

Guy had many interests. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to a variety of music, including jazz, blues, rock, and hard rock. He also loved to read.

At the end of high school, before enlisting in the army, Guy managed to fulfill a dream and travel to Germany and Hungary.

In February 1992, Guy enlisted in the IDF. He successfully completed basic training. Afterwards, he was sent on a first-aid course. Upon completion of the course, Guy was assigned to serve at the NBC Center (Non-Conventional Weapons – Nuclear, Biological, Chemical).

Guy carried out his role with dedication and seriousness. He strove for perfection and always performed his duties in the best possible way. He was loved by his friends and respected by his commanders. Everyone appreciated his dedication and persistence.

On December 24, 1992, Guy fell while serving in the military. He was 21 years old. He fell just two and a half weeks after his birthday. Guy was laid to rest at the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery. He was survived by his parents and sister. His mother wrote: “My beloved son, I miss you.”

May his memory be blessed.
